Charles Lee Peevy, affectionately known as Borainy, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, in his hometown of Ardmore, Oklahoma, where his remarkable journey began on March 25, 1949 to Iva Lee Clay McWilliams. It is with heavy hearts that his family and friends announce the passing of a gentle, quiet soul whose lifetime was marked by boundless kindness, steady devotion, and steadfast love for the people who meant the most to him.

Borainy was a proud son of Ardmore, educated at Ardmore City Schools, where he graduated and built the foundations of his enduring resilience and dedication. Upon receiving his high school diploma, Borainy answered his country’s call and was drafted into the United States Army. With dignity and unwavering courage, he served in Vietnam and received an honorable discharge, forever carrying the quiet strength and sense of duty that would define him for the rest of his life.

Returning home, Borainy deepened his skills by attending carpentry school at the local vocational-technical institution. In this craft, he found not only his vocation but his passion. Whether building, repairing, or learning new techniques to improve his work, Borainy approached carpentry with the meticulous care and pride that defined everything he undertook. His dedication to his trade was matched only by his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Yet, the measure of Borainy’s life was not in professional accomplishments or public accolades, but rather in the quiet, profound ways he touched those closest to him. Family was the center of his world, and nothing brought him greater happiness than the company of his daughters and grandchildren. For his daughters—Christy Lott, Sherry Peevy, and Sharra Peevy—Borainy was a constant, unwavering presence, their fiercest advocate and protector. To his grandchildren, he was a source of warmth, gentle guidance, and unconditional love. There was nothing he would not do for them; his devotion truly knew no bounds.

Borainy is also lovingly remembered by his sisters Joyce Erving, Debra Douglass, and Fredrica McWilliams, each grateful for the memories of his gentle nature, empathetic ear, and ever-present support. Together, they shared laughter, perseverance, and the enduring bond of family.

While we mourn Borainy’s departure, we also celebrate the life of an extraordinary man: the quiet acts of generosity, the pride he took in his work, and, most of all, the profound love he shared. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ivory Raymond, William Peevy, and Douglas Peevy; his sister, Charmayne Peevy; and his son-in-law, James Jessie III. Their spirits are surely reunited, gathering Borainy into an embrace that mirrors the love and loyalty he gave so freely in this life.

The family will receive friends at a visitation on July 24, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Kirk Funeral Home, 6 E Street NE, Ardmore, Oklahoma. A funeral service in Borainy’s honor will be held on July 25, 2026, at 1:00 PM, also at Kirk Funeral Home. Borainy will be laid to rest at Clearview Cemetery, 1421 Q St NE, Ardmore, Oklahoma, in the presence of his beloved family and friends.

Though we grieve the loss of Borainy from our everyday lives, his legacy remains—etched in the woodwork of Ardmore, in the cherished memories of his family, in the simple acts of kindness that rippled outwards from his gentle hands. It is in these places that his spirit will endure, lovingly remembered and deeply missed.
