Charles lived a life marked by faith, service, steady work, and simple joys that brought him peace.

Charles Eugene Johnson, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in his hometown on October 24, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on March 21, 1945, in Gene Autry, OK to Cecil and Katherine 'Humdy' Johnson. He was the middle child born of the three children, brother Albert Roy Johnson Sr., and sister, Carolyn Johnson Pirtle. Charles lived a life marked by faith, service, steady work, and simple joys that brought him peace.

At a young age, Charles accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, a foundation of faith that remained an important part of his life. He was a graduate of Berwyn-Lincoln Consolidated High School and later attended Okmulgee Technology Center, continuing his education as he prepared for the years ahead.

Charles also served his country with honor in the United States Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge. Following his military service, he built a long career as a machinist with Uniroyal Tire Company, where he worked for many years before retiring. His commitment to his work reflected the same quiet dependability that defined his life.

A soft-spoken man, Charles was known for the care he gave to the things he loved. He enjoyed keeping his classic 1965 Chevy Impala immaculate, taking pride in its appearance and upkeep. He was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan who loved watching them play. Some of his happiest times were spent fishing and enjoying the peace and solitude of the creek, river, or pond.
