Infant Rhylen Anthony McGee, a cherished baby boy, graced this world for a brief but unforgettable moment, born on January 2, 2026, at 4:01 AM in the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center. Rhylen was welcomed with open arms and an abundance of love by his devoted mother, Desiree McGee, and his caring grandmother, Diana Halstied, who remained steadfast by her side during this profound time.
Though his time was fleeting, Rhylen's impact resonates deeply within the hearts of his family. He is survived by his loving mother, Desiree; his grandparents, Diana Halstied, & Darryl ‘Tony’ McGee Sr. and his wife, Sophia; and an extended family that envelops him in love, including aunts Charity, Shonda, Shirelle, Destiny, and his uncle, Derelle, and great-grandfather Perry Halstied. Rhylen was part of a larger family network of great-aunts and great-uncles: JoElla Breath, Karen Willis, Kevin Halstied, Trudy Halstied, Violet Halstied, Shameka Halstied, Micale Smith, Keisha Halstied, Marie Mims, Roslyn Jackson, Derrick Roberts and his wife Ronesha, and Cassandra Jackson, all of whom embraced his arrival with warmth and affection.
Rhylen was also connected to the memories of his beloved great-grandmothers, Ella Mae Breath Martin and Verda McGee, and his uncle Darryl Anthony McGee Jr., who have passed on but will always hold a special place in his family's narrative.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Rhylen's short yet precious life will be held on January 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Kirk Funeral Home in Ardmore, Oklahoma. This gathering will be a space for those who loved him to come together, share their grief, and reflect on the love that will forever linger in their hearts.
Though he did not have the chance to experience a lifetime of moments, Rhylen Anthony McGee will always be remembered for the joy he brought into the lives of those who loved him. In their hearts, he will live on, a gentle reminder of the beauty of unconditional love and the bonds that connect a family through all of life's seasons, no matter how brief.
