Keisha LaSha Gooden

June 25, 1986 — August 25, 2025

Ardmore

In the quietude of a summer day on August 25, 2025, we bid farewell to a beloved soul, Keisha LaSha Gooden, whose radiant spirit infused warmth and kindness into the lives of many. Born on June 25, 1986, in Ada, Oklahoma, Keisha was a cherished daughter, devoted mother, and a faithful friend. She graced this world with her presence for thirty-nine bright years, leaving behind a tapestry woven with love, and laughter.

Keisha's journey began at Ardmore High School, where she graduated with the class of 2004, setting her sights on higher learning at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. Her academic pursuits led her to a fulfilling career as a receiving manager at Lowe's Home Improvement Store, where her dedication and amiable nature made her a cherished member of the team. Alas, as life would have it, challenges to her health would soon alter her path, but her spirit remained unyielded, steadfast in the face of adversity.

A woman of many talents, Keisha found joy in life's simple pleasures. She adored spending time with her family, especially her precious children, Geremiah Young and Kaylen Gooden, who were the pride of her life. An ardent lover of dance, she drew inspiration from none other than the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. It was not uncommon to find Keisha embodying the exuberance of Tweety Bird, her favorite fictional character, as she laughed and celebrated life’s moments, great and small.

Keisha's profound kindness, affectionate demeanor, and caring heart touched everyone she encountered. She embraced life with a sense of humor that illuminated the grayest of days, bringing joy to those fortunate enough to call her friend. As a Life Group Member at H2O Life Church, she immersed herself in her faith, drawing strength and inspiration from the goodness of God and reveling in the camaraderie of her Life Group Family.

Keisha is remembered fondly by her loving mother, Lisa Postoak Gooden and Stacy Walker, her devoted father,  Kenneth Gooden Sr., and her siblings: Kenneth Gooden Jr., KeShon Gooden, and Victoria Fields. Though deeply missed, her memory is cherished within this cadre of family and friends who hold her spirit close.

She reunites in peace with her beloved infant children, Romance Young and Joseph Gooden; her paternal grandparents, Helen and Billy Joe Washington; and her maternal grandmother, Louise Thompson Davenport, who welcomed her with open arms in the embrace of eternity.

On September 6, 2025, her life will be celebrated in a memorial service held at H2O Life Church in Ardmore, Oklahoma, a testament to her vibrant spirit and enduring legacy. The service will commence at 11:00 a.m. and friends and family are invited to don their finest shades of yellow, a color that encapsulated her bright essence and warm personality.

As we gather to honor Keisha LaSha Gooden, may we remember the affection she bestowed upon each of us and strive to carry forward her legacy of kindness, laughter, and love. In our hearts, she will forever dance like a bright star in the night sky, reminding us to cherish every moment of life.
