Linda Gail (Griffin) Dayton was born in Ardmore, OK, on May 8, 1944 to the late   Doris (Potts) and James M. Griffin.  She was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Linda moved to Wichita, Kansas at an early age, and she completed her general education.  Linda was employed by Wesley Hospital.

Linda met and married the love of her life, Claude L Dayton, Sr., they spend the next 64 years of wedded bliss. To this union five children were born: Cathy (Michael) Small, McKinney TX; Pamela (Lawrence) Lowe, Gilroy, CA; Djuna Dayton, Modesto, CA; Claude Dayton, Jr. (decreased); Cynthia (Dennis) Gay, Ardmore, OK.  

Linda was instrumental in the planning of the first Juneteenth Celebration in San Jose, CA. She was a die-hard Raider fan, who enjoyed all sports, entertaining her family and friend brought her tremendous joy. Linda was loved by many both far and near and her love was infectious, and her smile warmed your heart. She enjoyed going to the casino. 

Precious memories will be forever cherished by her grandchildren: Kershawn Reddie, Antionette King, Anthony (AJ) King, JR , Eric Pittman, Porsha Lowe, Chase Lowe, Desiree Lester, Keda Johnson,  J.J Anderson, Teneekka Anderson, Dennis Gay Jr, Jalissa Gay and Shantel Gay; 17 Great- grandchildren, one great grandchild preceded her in death Zander King. One cousin who was raised as a sister, Stevetta (Michael) Abron, Houston, TX; One sister-in-law, Carolyn Griffin, Plano, TX. She also had a special relationship with Kimberly White, Avis (John) Boyd and Allegra Muse, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and acquaintances.
