On Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 1973, God graced the lives of Lanny Joe and Naomi Roberts with the birth of a little son, Meche Lanneal Roberts, at the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Meche grew up on generational family land in Springer, Oklahoma, surrounded by loving family. There, in companionship with his brothers, he learned to hunt, fish, and explore the land that he loved so much. He attended HeadStart at Gene Autry School, and kindergarten through middle school at Springer Public School. As a sophomore, he transferred to Ardmore High School where he completed high school.
As a teenager, Meche repented of all his sins, was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of his sins, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost, evidenced by speaking in other tongues as the spirit gave the utterance, at the Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Later in life, he walked away from God, but recently realized that life without God was not life at all, and once again, he turned to God in repentance.
His employment career included Mechanical work, Directional Drilling, and Welding. After suffering a career ending injury, Meche spent his days doing whatever his limitations allowed him to do, which, included gardening, cooking, creating recipes, keeping his lawn manicured, tinkering on his vehicles, and building whatever came into his imagination.
After a brief illness, Meche departed this mortal life on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Medical City Dallas, Dallas, Texas. He was proceeded in death by his beloved grandparents, Elmon and Beatrice Clay and Cotral and Rosetta Roberts, as well as his father, Lanny Joe Roberts. He leaves to mourn his passing, but to forever cherish his memories, His pride and joy, his sons, Holden Dylan Roberts, (Cherokee), Maysville, Ok, Meche Roberts Jr. (Starlette), Ardmore, Ok., his loving and devoted mother, Naomi Roberts, Springer, Ok., Brothers; Brandon Roberts, Springer, Ok, Eric Roberts (Brandy), Springer, Ok. and Shedric Roberts (Ashley) Springer, Ok.
