A Life Well Lived
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1
On October 21, 1984, a precious son was born to Jennifer (Wright) Humdy and Royce Humdy Jr. in Healdton, Oklahoma. They named him Michael Deon Humdy, and from that day forward, he blessed the lives of everyone who knew him with his smile, his laughter, and his unforgettable spirit.
Michael was raised in Ardmore, Oklahoma, where he attended Ardmore City Schools and proudly graduated with the Class of 2004. While in school, he was a member of the Ardmore Tigers Basketball Team, where he built lifelong friendships and memories that would remain close to his heart. Michael had a personality that naturally drew people to him. He was quick with a joke, generous with his love, and the kind of person who could make any room brighter simply by being in it.
For a time, Michael lived in Oklahoma City with family before returning to the community that would always be home. No matter where life led him, he remained deeply connected to his family and friends.
Michael found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. He loved fishing, riding horses, attending rodeos, listening to music, singing, rapping, and spending quality time with the people he loved most. He had a contagious laugh, a kind heart, and an easygoing spirit that made people feel welcome. Those who knew him will remember not only his smile, but also the love he freely shared and the countless memories he created with family and friends.
Of all the roles Michael held in life, none meant more to him than being a father. His children were his greatest pride and his greatest blessing. The love he had for them was unwavering, and the memories they shared will forever remain in their hearts. His legacy will continue to live through Makyra, Ayden, Amariah, Jaxon, and Greyson, who will always carry a part of their father’s love with them.
Michael was preceded in death by his beloved father, Royce Humdy Jr.; his grandfather, Royce C. Pickens Sr.; his grandmother, Earney Mae Wright; and his grandfather, Lessie Wright.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving mother, Jennifer (Wright) Humdy; his grandmother, Louella Humdy-Pickens; his brothers, Javon Humdy (Heather), Ryan Bailey, and Dontey Wright (Briahna); his sisters, Candice Wadley, Renika Wright, Shawndreaka Pickens-Fusha (Josh), Felicia “Lou” Bailey, and Rachael Cox (Preston); his beloved children, Makyra, Ayden, Amariah, Jaxon, and Greyson; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, classmates, lifelong friends, and all who knew and loved him.
Though Michael’s earthly journey ended on July 23, 2026, the impact of his life will never fade. His laughter will echo in cherished memories, his love will continue through his family, and his legacy will live on in every life he touched. While we grieve his absence, we also celebrate a life that was meaningful, a heart that loved deeply, and memories that time can never erase.
Forever Loved. Forever Remembered. Forever Michael.
