Myea Hornbeak was born on Sunday morning, February 14, 1982, to Dennie and Barbara Hornbeak. From the very beginning, her life was marked by warmth, strength, and a vibrant spirit that would leave a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Myea attended Marietta High School and was a member of the Class of 2001. She continued her education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University before transferring to Murray State College, where she earned her degree in Psychology. Myea was full of life, and it showed in her laugh—infectious, joyful, and filling the room with warmth. She was a softball player, a woman with a generous heart, and someone who lived with passion. She loved deeply and fiercely, especially when it came to her children. Riley and Xavier were the loves of her life and her greatest blessing. Myea often shared that she never thought she would be able to have children, which made the gift of being their mother even more meaningful. Her love for her boys was unwavering and overflowing with pride.
Myea possessed a natural gift for nurturing and healing. She found deep joy in creating natural remedies, carefully blending teas and juices, and thoughtfully guiding others to the right potpourri for their medicinal needs. In every creation, Myea shared a part of herself—her kindness, a desire to bring comfort, balance, and wellness to everyone around her.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved sons, Riley and Xavier; her parents, Dennie and Barbara Hornbeak; her brother, Michael Hornbeak; her sisters, Danielle (Cecil Allen) and Michelle (Derek McDaniel); and her only nephew, Tyrion Wayne, who brought her great joy as T-Dub. Sheena Chapa and Amy B.Greenwood who were lifelong friends. Aunts Bonnie Collier and Ruth Kyle; Uncle Robert Scribner; Gwendolyn 'Sissy' Kemp (Ricky 'Charley Kemp), and many beloved cousins, including Angie, Kristie, Carla, Sarah, Charlie, Amy Kemp, Kyea, DD, Trey, Josh, Sias, Valerie, Bubba, and Yvette.
Myea was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Mamie Scribner; Luther and Sarah Hornbeak; and Vinnie Jett. Uncles; Ronnie and James Hornbeak. She was also preceded by cherished pups Babe, Phoebe, and Sassie.
Myea’s life was one of love, resilience, and light. Her laughter, generosity, and fierce devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit remains—woven into the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
